Chenin Blanc

The 2021 Stellenbosch vintage is in many ways similar to the celebrated 2017 vintage. Winemaker Dirk Coetzee noted that the cooler vintage resulted in elegant wines with a fine tannin structure and impressive fruit intensity. This blend of French oak matured and unwooded Chenin Blanc from 20 years old vines is medium-bodied and presents a fine balance of natural acidity, generous fruit, and a touch of roasted almonds. With bright acidity, concentrated fruit, and a distinctive spicy undertone, this is a remarkably versatile food wine. Enjoy it with grilled fish, spicy prawns, or mild curries.

Pinotage

The 2019 vintage stands out in terms of freshness and elegance. L’Avenir wines from this vintage boast natural acidity and crispness. Phenolic ripeness was attained at lower sugar levels resulting in wines with lower alcohol levels. An elegant reference to Stellenbosch Pinotage, this is medium-bodied, exhibiting a fine balance between fruit and spiciness, with a smooth and refined texture. Giving off attractive notes of cherries and mulberries, complemented by the sweet spiciness, this medium-bodied wine with silky tannins is refined and sophisticated. It pairs remarkably well with a mild Indian curry, as well as the popular Cape Malay dish, bobotie.
